About Surya Light
Surya Light
Integrative Wellness & Empowerment Coach
Helping you harmonize mind, body and spirit for optimal health, vitality and longevity.
Surya Light brings together more than 20 years of experience in yoga, meditation, fitness, holistic wellness, sound, music, energy healing and spiritual practice to support an integrative approach to wellbeing and personal transformation.
Her work weaves together the physical, emotional, energetic, creative and spiritual — supporting greater strength, resilience, self-expression, alignment and connection while empowering you to become an active participant in your own wellbeing.
Surya's work is deeply rooted in lived experience. Her own journey has taken her through addiction, codependency, loss of self and the challenging inner work of healing — into greater health, self-trust, personal empowerment and freedom. Having walked through her own seasons of darkness, she understands that healing isn't about denying or transcending the shadow, but learning to meet it, integrate it and allow more of our light to emerge.
Her lived experience brings compassion and authenticity to the way she guides others. As one of her teachers once shared, “You can only walk people where you yourself have been.” Surya's work is grounded in that understanding: she only asks others to journey into places she has explored within herself. After all, “We are all just walking each other home.” — Ram Dass

My Journey
My path into wellness, spirituality and healing began long before these practices became my life's work. From a young age, I was deeply intuitive and sensitive to the world around me, drawn naturally toward spirituality, self-discovery and the unseen dimensions of life.
Over the years, that sensitivity became something I learned to understand, honour and work with.
My journey eventually led me to India, where I immersed myself more deeply in the ancient teachings and practices of yoga. I studied along the banks of the Ganges and became rooted in a tradition that understands wellbeing as something far greater than the physical body alone.
For more than 20 years, I have continued to study, practice and teach yoga and meditation. As an E-RYT 500 Yoga and Meditation Teacher and YACEP, my foundation includes Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin Yoga. My work has continued to expand through fitness and personal training, Pilates, holistic wellness, coaching, energy work, breath, sound and ceremonial practice.
What began as many seemingly separate paths has ultimately become one.
I believe our physical, emotional, mental, energetic, creative and spiritual wellbeing are deeply interconnected. My work today reflects that understanding — bringing together practices that help people feel stronger in their bodies, clearer in their minds, more connected to themselves and more empowered in the way they live.
Music, Sound & the Voice
Music has always been one of the deepest threads running through my life.
Raised in a musical family, I have been singing since childhood. Harmony came naturally — around the dinner table, on road trips and anywhere voices gathered. Music became not simply something I did, but one of the most authentic ways I knew how to express what I felt.
Today, my work with sound weaves together voice, instruments, meditation, energy and intention.
As a vocalist, recording artist, multi-instrumental musician, sound practitioner and vocal alchemist, I use music and sound both creatively and therapeutically — from sound journeys and ceremonial music to mantra, intuitive vocalization and practices that invite others to reconnect with their own voice.
I believe the voice can be an extraordinary instrument for expression, release, connection, healing, health and empowerment. Through sound, we have an opportunity to listen, feel, remember and express parts of ourselves in a way that words alone cannot always access.
Energy, Spirituality & Ceremony
My spiritual path has led me through years of exploration and training in energy healing, intuitive practice and ceremonial work.
Trained in Reiki and Integrative Energy Healing, I draw from both established practices and intuitive approaches, incorporating meditation, sound, voice, breath, movement and sacred ritual as guided.
Ceremony is another meaningful part of my work. Through cacao ceremonies, meditation, music, sound and intentional gatherings, I create spaces for people to slow down, reconnect with themselves and experience the power of community.
My name, Surya, was given to me by one of my teachers in India. Meaning Sun in Sanskrit, it has become a beautiful reflection of what I hope to offer through my work: warmth, illumination and an invitation to remember the light already within you.
An Integrative Approach to Wellbeing
After more than two decades of learning, teaching and evolving, I no longer see movement, meditation, nutrition, fitness, music, energy, mindset and spirituality as separate pursuits.
They are different doorways into the same relationship: the relationship we have with ourselves.
My work is about helping people build that relationship from the inside out — caring for the body, understanding the mind, expressing the heart, nurturing the spirit and creating daily practices that support the life they want to live.
Whether we meet through coaching, movement, meditation, sound, ceremony or community, my intention is the same:
To help you remember your own power, trust your inner wisdom and create a life in which you feel fully alive.
“It is my highest joy to remind you of your power.” — Surya Light
“I remember who I am.
I am infinite. I am ever changing and expanding. I am embodied in this life, and on earth I have come to spread the light.”
