Surya Light
“My name is Surya Light, a name given to me by a teacher of mine in India who saw this expression of the divine within me. I have been journeying through the cosmic realms since I was a child. I naturally felt people’s pain as a child and was very sensitive to the world around me. I learned to follow the guidance of my higher wisdom from a very young age, I would practice listening deeply to my intuition and seeing where it would lead me. I felt as though I often knew the truth about a situation just from the feeling I experienced. I learned to recognize these sensitivities as gifts and dedicated my study and path to learning more about the unseen realms that felt very accessible to me. I learned through many ancient teachings, starting with the Vedic or yogic teachings and allowing that medicine to guide me into studying energy healing and venturing to the transformative world of plant medicines, shamanic healing and ceremonial facilitation. I have been a teacher and guide in many roles throughout my life, gathering over 20 years experience teaching yoga, meditation, yoga teacher trainings, assertiveness and empowerment coaching, energy and sound healing, vocal activations and empowerment; and more. As I move through my own life’s lessons, experiences, many spiritual awakenings, activations and remembrances, I gather wisdom and insights to shine light for others to find their way. It is my intention to support each being to live within the frequency of unconditional love, and to radiate that frequency out into the world, in their own divinely unique way. It is through the medicine of music and sound that I am able to fully express the light of my being, and it is my purpose to inspire others to do the same. I sang since I was a child, raised in a musical family, and I remember I always wanted to be a singer. How I loved singing with my three older sisters. I learned to follow and harmonize with my sisters and my mom. Sunday mornings cleaning the house, or washing the dishes after dinner, on a family road trip, or around the camp fire…. we were always singing. It’s my breath of life, my anchor in the storm, and sharing song with those I love, hearing the magic when our voices weave and dance, is where I feel truly at home.“ - Surya Light
Surya is a dynamic yoga, meditation and energy healing teacher, vocal guide and empowerment coach, sound and intuitive energy healer, grid priestess of the rose lineage, forever student and lover of all things outdoors. She believes that peace on earth is possible, and healing the self shows the way. Through her own healing journey, she has learned to connect deeply with her body, mind and spirit through many holistic approaches and modalities to access great insight, healing and bliss.
Allowing her intuition and her heart to guide her, she is dedicated to serving those on their path of healing and self-empowerment. Surya will guide you through yoga classes to stretch and strengthen your body, and relaxation techniques and guided meditations to open and expand your mind. She is an E-RYT 500 and a YACEP, who has been sharing her love and passion of yoga for 20 years as a teacher in communities around the world. She was blessed to experience her yoga teacher training on the banks of the Ganges River in India, where she studied Hatha Yoga. Still to this day, Hatha is her favorite practice as she feels it allows time and space to create a pocket of stillness to embrace ALL THAT IS this moment in complete oneness, unity and presence. Surya also loves to explore movement in the flowing graces of Vinyasa, and enjoys dipping her toes, and at times diving head first into the transformative fires of Ashtanga; and always coming back to the sacred release of Yin. Her playful nature and caring heart create a nurturing space that allows her students to dive deep into the depths of themselves, becoming vulnerable enough to heal, in a safe and supported environment.
In energy healing, Surya is trained in Reiki and Integrative Energy Healing modalities. She blends intuitive healing techniques, including the healing power of song and sound vibrations, shamanic healing and channeling spirit and higher dimensional beings of unconditional love to support, clear and remove past, present and future emotional traumas and energetic blocks that may lead to physical illnesses in the body. In her healings, she works with rattles, drums, chimes, voice and song vibration, other musical instruments, crystals, essential oils for sacred anointing and sacred healing plants.
Surya is very passionate about youth empowerment and supporting the children to recognize their natural gifts and sensitivities as strengths to be cultivated in a nurturing, safe and supportive environment.
